Hello there,
I'm sure you've heard the statement, "We are all God's children." As nice as that sounds, it's not true. Scripture paints a different picture. The good news? We are all given the opportunity to become children of God. In this episode, we’ll briefly explore that truth in addition to highlighting four huge benefits provided by the Greatest Father Of All Time.
Here are what I call the 4 C’s:
• God, the Father is our Comforter (2 Corinthians 1:3-5 NKJV)
• God, the Father is our Confidant (1 John 1:9 NKJV, 1 Peter 5:7 AMPC)
• God, the Father is our Corrector (Hebrews 12:6 AMPC)
• God, the Father is our Cover (Psalms 91:1-2 AMPC)
If you’ve ever wondered what it really looks like to have God as your Father, this episode will both challenge and encourage you in a meaningful way.
The main question to ask yourself today: Is God my Father?

Do your childhood memories bring you smiles of joy or tears of sadness? Do you know the love of a caring father? Do you think everyone is a child of God? Is God your father? Let's talk about it. The unexpected news was almost too much for me to handle. A close family member had just gotten a serious report from the doctor. As I stood in the shower, I said, God, I have no point of reference for this. I don't know these procedures. I don't know what to expect. He said, No, you don't, but you know me. When I tell you everything within me knew I was in good hands, even though the situation tried to be bigger than life, it instantly got smaller because my father just spoke to his daughter's heart. The fear that tried to scream at me was silenced. At Salvation, we received God as our Father. In episode seven, we reflected on the access we are given to Him when we accept Jesus as Savior and Lord. While I was trying to keep my footing, what the Father spoke to my heart strengthened my faith. I was enjoying access to the greatest Father of all time. He is mine and I am his. In the story I shared at the beginning of this episode, he was clearly my comforter. That's C number one. My Father God is a comforter. Let's go to Second Corinthians 1, 3 through 5. New King James Version. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also abounds through Christ. What a beautiful scripture. I think now in today's society, people are looking to be comforted. There is so much, there is so much going on. People have so much happening in their lives, there's so many things coming at people, and God is our comfort. That's a benefit of him being my father. Nobody, as much as they love me, could comfort me like my father God did in that moment. I heard bad news and he was there. That's all I needed to be reminded of. I know him. I don't have to know procedures. I don't have to know what's going to happen. I know him. So I know what's going to happen is going to be good. Oh, thank you, Father, for being my comfort. Thank you for never leaving me, never forsaking me. Thank you that I'm not alone. Sometimes I visualize this with my grown self. I'll be 50 sooner rather than later. And with my all the way grown self, sometimes I visualize myself just crawling up into the arms of God the Father. That's where I'm safe. That's where I'm protected. That's where I'm comforted. That's where I'm corrected. I mean, all the things that a father does, that's what I see. Oh, thank you, thank you, thank you, Lord. So our next C. Second C is confidant. God the Father is the best confidant. We can look at it in two ways. We can tell him about where we've missed it and confess our sins, or we can also share with him the things that concern us, our cares. Let's look at some scripture. So that right there, we can confess what we've done to God. Because guess what? He knows what we have done before we tell him. But that relationship, that father relationship, that father-child relationship, we can tell God anything. And this is the thing. When you talk to him and tell him what you have done, then he can help you. There's nothing worse than somebody who doesn't admit that they've done something. Somebody who is keeping their sin hidden. That's when you have problems. If you can tell, if you can confess, Father, I got a problem in this area. I need your help. That's what he wants us to do so that he can come in and show us the way to freedom. So he's our confidant. We can confess our wrongdoing. We can confess wrong thoughts. Not so we can just stay there, but so he can help us come and move forward from there. Okay, so 1 Peter 5, 7, and we'll look at this in the Amplified Classic Edition. Casting the whole of your care, all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns once and for all on him, for he cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully. So again, we can confess sins, but we also can tell God the things that concern us, the things that are on our hearts and on our minds, the things that we're thinking about, might be a family member, might be our job, might be our finances. We can talk to Him about these things. We can say, Father, you know, I've been thinking about my job, and I've been wondering, is this the right job for me? I've been wondering, I'd really like to make a little bit more money. And I'm wondering, should I do this? Should I start my own business? Should I apply for a different job? I mean, we need to talk to God like we would talk to our friends for advice. Because guess what? God knows way more than your friend. I'm just saying. And we need to involve him and invite him into every aspect of our lives. The deep, the dark, the ugly, invite him there so he can change those places. The next C is corrector. God the Father is a corrector. I often joke that the Father God gives the most loving spankings. God has corrected me more times than I can count. But every time I have felt his extreme love. I sense no harshness from him, no anger. Yes, he might be displeased, but the overwhelming sense I get is love. God the Father is a corrector. Let's read Hebrews 12:6 in the Amplified Classic Edition. For the Lord corrects and disciplines everyone whom he loves, and he punishes, even scourges every son whom he accepts and welcomes to his heart and cherishes. So we look at this here. This is not an anger statement. This is not God being angry. I get the sense even from where it says he punishes even scourges. It's like, no, let me let you feel, let me let you understand that this is not a good thing to do so you don't keep doing it. And I don't want you to keep doing that because I want to bless you. Let's not do that again. He has to correct us. And I want to put a little pin right here. I'm gonna meddle a little bit. Parents who don't correct their children don't love their children. I paused for emphasis. According to this scripture, God, the best father, father goals. If he corrects those he loves, we should too. It is not loving not to correct a child. It's not because you are essentially creating a monster. And I don't mean that to be funny or facetious. You're creating a person who has no um no practice in discipline. You are allowing that child to practice being led by flesh and getting whatever flesh wants, which is the exact antithesis of how we should be with the Father God. So when the Bible says, train up a child in the way that he should go, for when he is old, he'll not depart from it. It's also train up a child in the way that they should go so they understand too how to follow God. So this discipline that comes from God is because he loves us. God doesn't want us hitting brick walls, God doesn't want us being led by our flesh, God doesn't want us not allowing Jesus to be Lord. It's practice. These natural things are practice for the spirit. So if you have a child who is undisciplined and unruly, what kind of Christian are you raising? He won't even know how to how to listen and obey God. I meddled, but it's for it's for our good. It is for our good. I say it because I love you. God says it because he loves you. I'll leave it. I'll leave it for now. And our last C God the Father is our cover, our cover, C-O-V-E-R. God the Father is our cover, he protects us from all harm. Nothing that tries to overtake us can rival his protection. Think about that. Nothing that comes, no sickness or disease, no uh no calamity, no uh somebody talking about you, somebody lying on you, none of it can rival his protection. One of my favorite verses about God is our cover is Psalm 91, verse 1 and 2, and the Amplified Classic Edition. It says, He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty, whose power no foe can withstand. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God on Him I lean and rely, and in Him I confidently trust. So good. So, so, so, so good. God is our protector, He's our cover. We can just sit up under Him and be protected from everything. But it's up to us. Do we position ourselves there? Do we really dwell in the secret place? I there's a minister that says this, and I love it how he says it. We are to dwell in the secret place, not visit. And a lot of times we visit. We go in when we need something and then we're out. We go in when we got trouble and then we're out. Thanks, God, that what I need, I'm out. No, let him cover us at all times, in every circumstance, under every condition. Be covered by him. Oh, thank you, Lord. The covering, the covering of God the Father is so sweet. It's a place of protection, it's a place of peace, it's a place of joy. It's perfect, it's truly perfect, and I've been trying to be mindful, to be in that place, to truly abide and dwell there and not go in and out. I want to be covered by him at all times. I know God is my father. I am daily learning the benefits of him as father. I have shared some today, but there's so much more. If God is not your father, he'd like to be right now. It's not hard, it's not complicated, it's actually very easy. John 3.16 in the Passion Translation says, for here is the way God loved the world. He gave his only unique son as a gift. So now everyone who believes in him will never perish but experience everlasting life. If you would like to have God become your father, just repeat this prayer after me. It's not just the repetition of a prayer, though. I must say this. It's the position of your heart as you repeat this prayer. So with your heart believing what you're saying, pray this after me. Dear God, I want you to be my father. I ask to be adopted into your family. Thank you for loving me so much that you gave your precious gift, Jesus Christ. The Bible says in Romans 10, 9, and 10 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. I believe in my heart that Jesus is the Son of God. I believe he died for my sins. I believe his death, burial, and resurrection are why I can approach you. I receive the gift of eternal life through Jesus. It's mine. I believe in my heart and confess with my mouth that Jesus is Lord. I am now your child. And Jesus is. My Lord and Savior. Thank you. Thank you, Father. Amen. If you have received God as Father and Jesus as Lord and Savior, I want to hear from you. If you're listening on YouTube, you can leave me a comment.
